Senior Systems and Development Engineer
“I enjoy turning ideas into software solutions that affect our business positively and provide growth”, says Senior Systems and Development Engineer Joshua De la Vega. “I enjoy working in Agile projects that will make an impact.”
Josh is a bilingual (English and Spanish) IT developer, consultant and project manager with experience in various technology platforms, in diverse cultures and environments (Latin America and North America). He has more than 20 years of experience as a software development engineer with companies in various industries. He is a hands-on engineer avid to discover ways of putting new technologies to work.
His experience in managing Web consulting projects has allowed him to develop competencies in planning, deploying, migrating and developing the most intricate software solutions and generating solid customer relationships.
Josh was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, where he lives now. He visits Georgia, his “U.S. Home,” several times a year. Why Georgia? Because he attended The University System of Georgia, where he earned a B.B.A. in Business Management with an IT focus. He also did coursework at Wichita State in Kansas and at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador.
Josh, who comes from a family of musicians, studied percussion for five years in music conservatory. He is still active and enjoys his drum set. When Josh is not working on projects for Tortal clients, he enjoys traveling with his wife and two beautiful daughters. “We live in the middle of the world,” he says, “for now!”
